Beatport Next 2027 opens applications: 12 emerging DJs and producers, deadline 6 November

In one line

Beatport has opened applications for Beatport Next 2027, a year-long artist development programme for 12 emerging DJs and producers. Artists from any country and any electronic genre can apply until 6 November 2026, and the class will be announced in January 2027. Selected artists get editorial coverage, event slots, industry exposure and support from Beatport's teams.

Beatport has opened applications for the next round of Beatport Next, its development programme for emerging electronic artists. The 2027 edition will pick 12 DJs and producers for a year of support, and the call is open to artists from any country and across electronic genres. Applications close on 6 November 2026, and the class will be announced in January 2027.

According to Beatport's announcement and coverage of it, the year can include editorial and feature coverage across Beatport's platforms and social channels, slots at live events and festivals, industry panels and brand partnerships, with alumni also supported by Beatport's label and marketing teams around their releases. Beatport says it is looking for artists who are developing a distinct sound and a clear direction.

The timing puts the programme in front of the industry right away. Beatport is hosting a Beatport Next showcase during ADE in Amsterdam next week, open to the public with an RSVP, featuring names connected to the programme including Rosey Gold, Kikelomo, ATRIP, Sam Alfred and D Stone. It is the kind of slot the programme promises, and it gives applicants a clear picture of how the platform presents its picks.

For emerging artists, the value is less about money and more about signal. Being named in a Beatport class tells promoters, agents and labels that someone with a lot of data on what DJs buy has looked at your work and backed it. That can open conversations that a cold email cannot. It will not replace a release plan, a live strategy or a team, but it can speed them up.

For managers, treat the application like a pitch. Older calls asked for artists with music on Beatport and an active release schedule, and while the 2027 sources do not repeat those criteria, a coherent catalogue on the store, a clear sound and a strong short bio will still matter. Check the current form for exact requirements, gather links to your best releases and recent sets, and do not leave it for the final weekend before the deadline.

With only 12 places worldwide, most applicants will not get in. The exercise of writing a sharp artist statement and choosing your three strongest tracks is still worth doing, because you will need both for every label and agent pitch that follows.
