Verknipt's 'Breaking Patterns' edition puts Restricted on top of six stages

In one line

Verknipt Festival 2026 ran June 6 and 7 at Recreatieplas Strijkviertel in Utrecht under the theme 'Breaking Patterns', with six stages, more than 36 artists and hard techno headliner Restricted topping the bill. Teletech Festival's fourth edition follows August 1 in Manchester, where Restricted appears again alongside Azyr.

If you want to measure how big European hard techno has become, count stages at Verknipt. The Dutch brand's 2026 festival filled Recreatieplas Strijkviertel in Utrecht on June 6 and 7 with six themed stages, more than 36 artists, and the kind of production budget the genre was not supposed to have yet.

The 'Breaking Patterns' edition, pitched by the organisers as "a moment to dance differently, think differently, and find your crew in the chaos," was the most ambitious staging in the brand's history. Stage concepts ran from Nachtcollege and Flow through Happy Feelings, Rewind and La Reve to DEPOT, each with its own visual identity wrapped around the floor.

Restricted topped the bill, with the lineup underneath reading like a census of the scene's fast risers: Vieze Asbak, KUKO, Cloudy, Klofama, Toxic Machinery, Jazzy, Karah and Fumi. The 18 plus event has called Strijkviertel home since 2018 and has now sold out six summer editions there, with the brand fully committed to hard, industrial and rave-leaning techno since 2022.

The circuit keeps moving. Verknipt Croatia follows later this year, and Teletech's fourth Manchester edition lands August 1 at Bowlers Exhibition Centre, where Restricted appears again alongside Azyr. For bookers and managers, the pattern is the point: this scene now sustains a full European summer of its own.
