Primavera Sound 2027: Hawtin, Four Tet and Dixon close the 25th edition with an eight-hour Bits marathon
Primavera Sound Barcelona 2027 runs from 3 to 5 June at Parc del Fòrum with 151 acts for its 25th edition. Electronic highlights include The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Bicep, Joy Orbison, John Talabot and Skrillex b2b Ninajirachi, while Primavera Bits closes on 6 June with Richie Hawtin, Four Tet and Dixon playing an eight-hour run of alternating sets.
Primavera Sound has revealed the lineup for its 25th Barcelona edition, and while the headline posters lean on Doechii, Phoebe Bridgers, Fontaines D.C., Massive Attack, Turnstile, Robyn and FKA twigs, the electronic programme is the part club people will be reading twice. The festival returns to Parc del Fòrum from 3 to 5 June 2027 with 151 acts confirmed.
The dance side is built on heritage and current pull at the same time. The Chemical Brothers and Underworld bring two of the longest running live electronic shows in the world, Bicep cover the crossover between club and big stage, and Joy Orbison and John Talabot carry the selector credibility. Skrillex and Ninajirachi are billed together for a back-to-back set, a pairing that speaks to how strongly the festival is courting a younger bass and club crowd.
The most interesting booking sits outside the main three days. Primavera Bits, the festival's electronic closing party at the Fòrum, takes place on Sunday 6 June with Richie Hawtin, Four Tet and Dixon. The three have never shared a bill in this format before: they will play an eight-hour marathon of alternating sets, which is a very different proposition to three separate headline slots.
For DJs and managers, that Bits format is worth studying. Long rotating sets reward selectors who can read a room over hours rather than deliver a fixed peak-time show, and they put the emphasis on transitions between artists as much as on any one set. Expect more promoters to borrow the idea, because it turns three bookings into a single event with its own story.
The wider bill also confirms a trend we see across European festivals heading into 2027: electronic acts are no longer a side stage at indie-led events, they are a core part of the ticket. Acts with a proven live show or a strong back-to-back partnership have an easier pitch to these mixed-genre festivals than DJs who only offer a standard club set.
Ticket information and the full lineup are on Primavera Sound's official channels. With the June date fixed, agents routing techno and house acts through Spain and Portugal next summer now have a clear anchor in the calendar.
