Bloc returns for a one-off 20 year reunion at The Cause, with Jeff Mills and British Murder Boys first
Bloc will return for a one-off 20th anniversary reunion on Saturday 6 March 2027 at The Cause in London's Docklands, running for 16 hours from 2pm to 6am. The first names are Jeff Mills, a British Murder Boys live set from Surgeon and Regis, Egyptian Lover live, a Leftfield DJ set, Miss Djax, and Tama Sumo and Lakuti.
Bloc, one of the UK's most influential electronic music festivals, is coming back for one night. The organisers have confirmed that the Bloc 20 Year Reunion will take place on Saturday 6 March 2027 at The Cause in London's Docklands, running for 16 hours from 2pm to 6am. When the reunion was first teased earlier this year, both the venue and the line up were still to be announced. Now the first wave is out.
Jeff Mills leads it, which makes sense: he has played more headline sets for Bloc than any other artist. Surgeon and Regis reunite as British Murder Boys for a live set, Egyptian Lover brings a rare live show built around his 808, and Neil Barnes plays a Leftfield DJ set, the project's first ever appearance at Bloc. Miss Djax plays an all vinyl acid set, Tama Sumo and Lakuti go back to back, and DJ Storm and Tasha share the decks. Steve Davis and Kavus Torabi are also confirmed, with rooms hosted by crews including I Love Acid, Plex, Chapter 10 and Telepathic Fish, which runs a chill out space. More names are promised.
The history explains the excitement. George Hull and Alex Benson started Bloc at a holiday park in Norfolk in 2007, and the festival found a long term home at Butlin's in Minehead from 2009, building a reputation for booking techno, electro and experimental artists that bigger events ignored. Its 2012 London edition at London Pleasure Gardens was shut down on the opening night over crowd safety concerns, a story the founders have since discussed openly. The reunion moves from a holiday camp format to a multi room venue party, and the team has been clear that it is a single event rather than a full festival revival.
The Cause itself has grown from a single room in a former mechanics workshop in Tottenham into a multi space venue in Docklands, which gives Bloc the room count it needs to programme several distinct stages in one night. Tickets are sold through Resident Advisor.
For artists and managers, the line up is a reminder of how much weight a brand's history carries. Bloc has not run a weekender in years, yet a first wave built on long standing relationships, reunions and rare live sets is enough to make the date one of the most talked about of early 2027. Anniversary events reward artists who were part of the story, and they favour live sets and special formats over standard DJ slots. If your act has history with a brand that is planning a milestone, now is the moment to pitch something only you can do.
